Tasting Notes: Chocolate Milk, Hazelnut, Sweet Citrus

This coffee comes from the mountains of southern Santander, one of Colombia’s oldest and most respected coffee-growing regions. Nestled along the northern Andes, Santander has been producing exceptional coffee for generations and is known for its balanced cups, rich sweetness, and consistent quality.

Our coffee is sourced through the Santander Coffee Growers Cooperative (COOPSANTANDER), an organization founded in 1967 that supports more than 6,000 small coffee producers throughout the region. For over five decades, the cooperative has helped farmers access stable markets, technical assistance, sustainability programs, and ongoing training—strengthening local communities while ensuring high-quality, traceable coffee.

This lot was pulled from a cooperative that selected 12 standout coffees from hundreds of offerings and carefully blended them to showcase the characteristics Santander is known for: comforting brown sugar sweetness, balanced acidity, and a smooth, approachable cup.

The blend is made up of Caturra and Castillo varieties grown between 1,200 and 1,750 meters above sea level, primarily under shade-grown conditions that help preserve biodiversity and support long-term farm health.
